  • OSH Coordinator (OSH-C): As of June 1, 2024, any workplace with five or more employees that is not required to appoint a full-time Safety and Health Officer (SHO) must appoint one of its employees to act as an OSH Coordinator. This includes retail shops and warehouses.
  •  Penalties for Non-Compliance

    Failure to appoint an OSH Coordinator or an SHO (if applicable) is a serious offense under Section 29A(4) of the amended Act. An employer found guilty is liable to: 

    A fine not exceeding RM50,000; or

    Imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months; or

    Both a fine and imprisonment.
